Same Shell as A9 Ultimate The ATK Dragonfly A9 Plus and A9 Ultimate use the exact same GPX-style shell, so the shape, grip comfort, and overall ergonomics feel identical in hand. Both are safe ambidextrous designs that work well for relaxed claw grip, meaning your posture and finger placement won’t change between models. The main differences are internal, not external, with the Ultimate positioned as the higher-performance version. The A9 Ultimate is lighter, which makes micro-adjustments and fast flick stops feel quicker and more effortless, especially for claw players. The A9 Plus is slightly heavier and feels more stable or planted during tracking, which some users may prefer for control.Internally, the Ultimate uses a newer sensor and a Nordic 54L15 MCU, giving it better efficiency and stronger support for high polling rates, though the real-world difference is subtle for most players.Click feel also differs, as the Ultimate typically uses optical switches that feel lighter and faster compared to the more traditional mechanical clicks on the Plus. Battery behavior is reversed from what many expect: the Plus often lasts longer due to a larger battery, while the Ultimate prioritizes weight reduction.Even though the shell is the same, the internal weight distribution makes the Ultimate feel slightly more agile and less anchored in the rear compared to the Plus. Overall, the A9 Plus delivers most of the experience at a lower cost, while the A9 Ultimate feels like a tuned enthusiast version focused on lighter weight, faster response, and premium internals.

Surprisingly a great one. I've been using the A9 plus and it seems pretty solid value at $38. On first use, I almost fooled myself thinking they used Omron optical, but with some time and break in, I figured out the small nuanced differences. These use Huano Ice Pink dots, and they're actually a little softer with a similar bounciness with a quick return, in comparison. In terms of pretravel, the best I've tried. It's minimal and feels just stiff enough until you press with enough force to actually trigger the quick press. I was pretty impressed. The mouse itself is full size symmetric GPX-shape, a standard. My unit weighs 60g without the dongle inside the compartment on the underside. As for the buttons I discussed, the wheel is smooth but you can feel the soft tactility if you're careful. Side buttons are good: crisp, no mushiness. The coating feel is like that premium grippy nano coating, which is really nice. Skates seem to glide well enough for me. Will note that while the A9 plus does come with extra grip tape if for some reason the coating isn't enough, it doesn't come with spare skates, but fair for a value option. Most people willing to change skates generally have a go-to in mind anyway.Software: it's great UI-wise, and seems to work well through webapp (internet required) or downloadable client. It's called the ATK Hub all-in-one, and you can demo it through the webpage without the mouse. You can toggle your sensor to overclock for gaming, along with DPI/macros/LOD(1 or 2mm)/polling (1K max on this unit). It’s everything expected of gaming mouse software.Overall build quality seems good. Nearlink is essentially 2.4ghz wireless; I can't really tell the difference since it just uses the standard wireless USB receiver under the bottom mouse compartment. Performance is as advertised, works without hiccups. Seems of a great quality for under $40.

Great ultralight mouse with excellent performance, but setup needs work This mouse is extremely lightweight and took some getting used to coming from an Apple Magic Mouse, but once adjusted, it feels great. Build quality is solid with no flex, size fits nicely in my hand, and the buttons are very clicky and satisfying. It glides smoothly and feels fast and precise in use. I’m also really impressed with the battery life so far.Connectivity options include:• Bluetooth• USB wireless dongle stored inside the mouse• Wired useBluetooth worked immediately on my iMac, which was a big plus. However, the included cable and dongle are USB-A, so Mac users may need adapters or their own USB-C cable.Customization options are powerful, including DPI changes, button remapping, and macros, but the setup experience is frustrating. Documentation is limited and partly not in English, and firmware updates are done through a confusing web portal. The mouse shipped several firmware versions behind, and updating it took multiple attempts.Once configured, performance is excellent, and I had to lower the sensitivity compared to my Apple mouse.Overall, the hardware is excellent, but the software experience and documentation need improvement. A great mouse if you’re willing to spend a little time setting it up, especially on macOS.
