Such an ongoing series, draws you in more with every page, characters are likeable and the storyline is captivating. Can't wait to read the remaining 2 booksHighly recommended to anyone escaping reality for a while.

I think I might have added this book after reading Ember's series but then didn't read it straight away because I'm often disappointed in spin offs. I actually forgot what this book was while it sat on my list. Once I started to read it, within the first couple of pages it came flooding back.I got hooked into this book pretty quickly, actually I would say this book starts pretty quickly, it certainly doesn't have a long introduction. It's also not a particularly long book, but also not too short. The plus on this is it really doesn't drag.We are reintroduced to Briar, with her sister Ember right as something odd starts happening to Briar. Not long after, Briar is whisked away to the Fae world where she suddenly finds herself in a bloodthirsty bridal competition to win a Fae prince, Vad.Being that the book is pretty fast paced, and about 2/3's of the book is Briar fighting to survive, we don't really get to know Vad as much as we do Briar, but hopefully this will be fixed in book 2. I quite liked Briar as the female lead, but then again, I quite liked her in Ember's books as well.Of course this book ends on a cliffhanger and I'm very keen to see what happens next.

Wow! Mind the cliff though Demolished this story in less than 24 hours. Absolutely loved it! The story and world building was so perfect. Jen L. Gray knows what she’s doing for sure! I knew there would be a cliffhanger but dang I wasn’t ready! I was so caught up I didn’t realize I’d reached the end. I’m normally a high spice person and this had some but not a lot, but was so good without it! Waiting on pins and needles for the next book!

Awsome book. I'm so ready to read the next book. This one was awesome but all her books are. Briar is a strong woman and Vad is the moody, dark fae who steals her attention. Briar reminds me of women, not unlike myself, who don't think they are quite good enough against other women. What she doesn't know is that she embodies a strong spirit, fierce loyalty and quick wit. Vad is a typical prince until he lays eyes on her. This ends on a cliffhanger and I'm on the edge of my seat. I can imagine what's going to happen next based on how the book ends and using context clues from throughout the story. However, I have no doubt there will be twists and turns even I can't see coming. I highly recommend this as well as her other books.

Enjoyable Enjoyed the book very much. The bride trials were interesting. Devoured in one sitting. If you enjoy fated mates it's a good book.

LOVED THIS!!! This book did not disappoint!! Was everything I’d hoped for and more as I was waiting until all 3 were finished to start reading…. The extremely dangerous challenges Brair has been made to endure are unbelievable but she’s somehow making it while trying to stay away from Vad the prince , not doing very well with that either …. I’m going straight into book 2 and can’t wait!!

Just ok I was torn between 2.5-3 stars. I was bored with the story at times so I had to push to continue reading it. Will I read the next one? Yes because overall the plot is not bad and I like knowing what happens.A couple things that annoyed me…just swear. Not feck.Secondly, the name Vaddy sounds too similar to daddy and makes it seem like a weird fetish. I prefer when the scenes say Vad for his name.

Fun read Enjoyed the book. The connection seemed a bit rushed; but over all I really liked it. Super easy to read.

Great story This storyline has been done before, but Jen L Grey brought a freshness to the story. I was hooked from the beginning. My only reason for 4 stars, character development…the characters could have been developed more. They go from hating each other to obsession in seconds flat. There was just something missing.Overall, a great read. On to book 2!
    CO book lover!

This Book is Awesome! While I haven't read this novel yet, the book itself is stunning! I love the colored edges, and the whole design of the book. It's going straight into my TBR!
