The Bosch PL2632K 3-1/4 In. Planer Kit features a tool with a 6.5 Amp motor that produces 16,500 RPM for fast stock removal and smooth finishes. The aluminum front and rear shoes are precision-machined together for accuracy, and the tool has a machined groove for chamfering. The tool also provides a spring-loaded stand that elevates the planer to protect the blade and the tool-resting spot. Equipped with reversible Bosch Woodrazor micrograin carbide blades, the Bosch PL2632 gives users the option of a two-blade system to accommodate high-speed steel blades (optional accessories are required). The dual-mount guide fence can be mounted on either side of tool, and its plastic overshoe prevents marring of door or workpiece face. The tool’s ambidextrous lock-off release button helps prevent avoid accidental starts, and it has a lock-on button for extended operation, a combination that is unique to Bosch planers. The chip-ejection switch can be moved to discharge the shavings left or right, and dust ports are located on both sides of the tool to accommodate a large shavings bag. This planer is built with a poly micro-V drive belt for enhanced belt durability and a ball-joint cord swivel for enhanced ease of positioning the tool and cord.

Es muy buena, no se van a arrepentir si la compran. Trabaja muy bien y la calidad es excelente como siempre. Deja la madera prácticamente lisa, al cepillar una tabla de grandes dimensiones se me hizo un poco complicado porque deja muy marcados los rebajes laterales, aunque configures la profundidad al mínimo. Es como si trazaras una linea como una carretera en la madera, y luego eliminar los bordes se complica porque haces mas pasadas y formas otros bordes y al final se hace un desmadre. Ya estuve practicando para eliminar esos bordes tienes que levantar la maquina a pulso 1 o 2 mm mientras la pasas por la madera y luego terminas con una buena lijada. Lo que no me gustó es que la maquina se calienta muchísimo después de unos minutos de uso continuo, si tocas la parte lateral de aluminio te puedes quemar. La bolsa si viene de muy mala calidad y se deshila muy fácil. En general si te facilita mucho trabajar la madera, hasta ahora sigue afilada la cuchilla. cuando pierda filo pueden comprar la original por $300 o una truper de $50. yo compre la truper....

I haven't owned a planer before and this is probably the most powery power tool in my garage. We needed this for cutting down some slab doors and I was able to figure this out with a quick youtube video.Its an easy tool to work with. Cord length is great and even with the length of a door, I could comfortably go the full distance even with room from the outlet. Cutting is smooth and the finished product has a super clean finish: not a hint of a snag at all.Even with the bag, it creates a lot of mess but the bag does a great job of containing the bulk of it. You can connect the planer to a shop vac to avoid the mess of cleaning the bag (it fills up fast!)

Retuned the item back to Illinois, came with US plug NOT UK.. to much hassle to convert. No problem with the refund 24hs after dispatch, money back.I'm sure it's a good planner for people in the states...

Powerful, smooth-running, solid e-planer. There are plenty of choices in electric hand planes from occasional use to what might be called investment grade. The Bosch falls in or near the latter. The cutter-depth is easy to adjust with good detents (beginning at 1/64") and if you plan to do a lot of planing, that's important. The motor has soft-start, which is helpful for a powerful, high RPM tool.I already had a 50+ y.o. Rockwell, BUT it was purpose-built for narrower wood (eg doors) and the side fence is non-removable. This model comes with a removable fence that seems to be easily adjusted (I put it on, tested the fit and adjusters but then took it right off since I was eager to experiment with wider slab-like boards.) So far in 2-3 hours' use it does a fantastic job. I pushed it a time or two (on well-seasoned oak and poplar) just to see where the motor started to bog, but in most any normal use, I don't forsee a problem. The Bosch has an overall solid feel comparable to the old (but still great running) Rockwell.Other than initial cost, I can think of no real shortcomings or criticisms.

Works great with a few tweaks Good, solid hand plane. Like others have experienced, the provided fence was off by a few degrees. I had to bend it to 90⁰. Blades work well and have held on Red Oak. It is a little difficult to hold using the fence and still keep it square. Basically I hold the portion of the back fence bracket that is sticking up while pushing down on the flat portion of the front bracket. It works, but there should be a more elegant solution to keeping things squared up. Dust collection is excellent with a strong vacuum cleaner. It's difficult to plane a wide board flat since the planer removes material even when set to zero. I wish there were a way to lock the depth setting.

One of my new favorite tools! Not as LOUD as I feared. This tool is nice and stable. The cuts are gorgeous. The motor can be heard over the noise from my shop vac, but not oppressively so (unlike some others). Comes with a bag, a guide, a tool for changing the blades, a big case ... did not come with the adapters that I needed for connecting it to my vac, but I knew that in advance. I have only planed a couple pine boards with it, but - wow! So much easier than my jack plane .... like, worlds apart. When i hooked this planer up to my shop vac, not only was the Bosch less noisy than I was expecting, it was incredibly clean as well. Definitely one of my new favorite tools.I would still recommend keeping a jack plane around, for finishing the fine details, anyways. At least, for the time being. That may change. I am very glad that I spent the money on this tool, and this specific brand.

Light weight and an awesome planer This planer does a great job! I recently purchased 4 ruff hewned 8x8x8 pine timbers and hand planed them with this product. It is light weight, easy to adjust the cutting depth, and very easy to use. It's easy to change/replace the blades (2) and it's everything that I needed to do the job. I didn't like the bag but didn't really need as I did the planning outside. All in all...it's a very good product for the cost and it comes with a hard carrying case.
