Won't cut a 6x6 without turning Saw is of decent design, but workmanship not great and not exactly square. Unlike other 12 in compound sliding saws I used, it will not cut a 6x6 without turning. Other than that nice saw.

Mediocre Sliding function does not work well. Wish I would have spent the extra money on the Bosch.

Metabo HPT 12” Miter Saw Is a Winner! The shipping package, which was the manufacturer’s original cardboard container, arrived in poor condition, but thankfully my Metabo-HPT 12” slider had sufficient internal packaging to protect the saw. In fairness to UPS, the manufacturer’s box could have been of much higher quality, so I am not blaming UPS.Aside from that issue, the saw cut perfectly square out of the box. Previously, I had considered buying a Makita slider because of the forward rail system. I have limited workspace, so the forward rail system is a must, and this solidly built saw provides that feature at a third of the cost for a Makita. Time will tell, but I think this Metabo HPT saw will serve me well!

Contractor grade for DYI price. Contractor grade. I worked on a construction crew building residential homes for 2 years. This miter is a good as any of the high grade tools we used.

Powerful Saw This saw is very powerful and operated great. It’s made to feel and operate solid without much flexing. It’s going to take a little bit of calibrating to get everything cutting perfectly square but out of the box was good enough to make a solid bench. Only concern is it supposed to be sparking like this?? Maybe I should send an email to the manufacturer to make sure…

Slide bearing system could be bett Great saw. I bought it for the forward rails that allow it to sit up again a wall.inlime the dewalts or Milwaukee. However the slide isnt the smoothest. It came from the factory with the top slide bushing too tight. I loosened it and it glides much bettebut the way the saw is set up it gets full of dust about every day. Having good dust collection would probably help. Its really nothing that can't be just blown out with an air hose everyday real quick. Overall its a great saw i just wish the slide system was abit better. Being half the price of the makita id say its a great value for what you get. Motor sounds great plenty of power. Happy with the saw.

Smooth and consistent through the cut. Awesome saw. Incredibly smooth throughout the cut. This is on me, I am sure, but when sliding sometimes there is some resistance. I need to check the manual for the best way to keep the slide, running smooth and free and clear of debris.

Nice saw. Powerfully saw, wish it came with a 60 tooth blade. Sliding mechanism is a little sticky but I can power through it. Everything was within specs, no adjustments needed.
